Yes. You can edit a receipt after it syncs to QuickBooks or Xero.

Editing a receipt in Receipt AI will not create a duplicate.

If the transaction is still editable, Receipt AI syncs the change to QuickBooks or Xero.

If the transaction has already been reconciled, the change stays in Receipt AI.

Where Should I Edit?

For best results, edit the receipt in Receipt AI first.

You can edit common receipt details such as date, vendor, total, memo, account, category, and line items.

Will It Create a Duplicate?

No. Receipt AI updates the existing synced receipt or transaction instead of creating a new one.

What If It Was Already Reconciled?

If the transaction has already been reconciled in QuickBooks or Xero, Receipt AI keeps the change in Receipt AI.

Reconciled transactions are treated as finished accounting records.

How to Edit a Receipt

1. Open the receipt in Receipt AI.

2. Click Edit.

3. Make your changes.

4. Click Save.

When Should I Upload Again?

Only upload or re-upload if Receipt AI shows that the receipt is not synced or needs manual upload.

If you deleted the receipt or expense in your accounting software, you can re-upload it from Receipt AI. Click , then choose Upload to QuickBooks or Upload to Xero.

Do not upload the same receipt again unless Receipt AI asks you to.
