Receipt AI: Take a Picture and Text

For years, we found ourselves doing what most people do—shoving receipts into our wallets, letting them pile up, and eventually spending hours uploading them into our accounting software. It was frustrating, messy, and honestly a huge waste of time. So we decided to fix it for ourselves. That’s how Receipt AI was born.

How does Receipt AI work?

Now, whenever we get a receipt, we simply text it to Receipt AI. From there, everything just happens. Receipt AI reads the details automatically—date, vendor, total, and all the important fields—renames the file cleanly, and sends it straight into our accounting software like QuickBooks and Xero. What used to be a chore that dragged on for hours each month now takes seconds. It has made our operations smoother, our bookkeeping more accurate, and tax season far less stressful—most importantly, it’s the easiest way we’ve found to free up our minds and stop thinking about receipts altogether.

We originally built Receipt AI just for our own team. But once we saw how much time it saved us—and how enthusiastic others were when they tried it—we realized it was too useful to keep to ourselves. So we turned our internal tool into a product anyone can use, hoping it brings others the same relief and simplicity it brought us.
