Most people quote the first half of The Serenity Prayer.
God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

I think the second half is the harder prayer.
The first half asks for serenity, courage, and wisdom.
The second half asks for surrender.
Living one day at a time.
Enjoying one moment at a time.
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace.
That is harder than it sounds.
Knowing what you cannot change is one thing.
Accepting it is another.
It is easy to say, “I accept what I cannot change.”
It is much harder to live one ordinary day without trying to control everything.
